Fielding Crawford, the boys lacrosse coach at Atlee High School (AHS), and Andrew Steuart, the boys volleyball coach at Patrick Henry High School (PHHS), were selected as the 2022-23 Virginia Boys Lacrosse and Boys Volleyball Coach of the Year, respectively.

Jennifer Johnson, the strings teacher and orchestra director at Liberty Middle School and Patrick Henry High School, has been awarded the Music Education Mentor Award from the Virginia Strings Teacher Association.

Chris Martinez, the principal at Patrick Henry High School (PHHS), is the Hanover County Public Schools winner of the 2022-23 R.E.B. Award for Distinguished Educational Leadership by The Community Foundation.

Patrick Henry High School was selected by the Virginia Department of Education’s Military Student Support Process Action Team and the Virginia Council on the Interstate Compact on the Educational Opportunity of Military Children for the 2022-2023 Purple Star Designation Award, a recognition for schools that demonstrate military-friendly practices and a commitment to military students and families.

HCPS is pleased to announce that all schools have achieved accreditation by the Virginia Department of Education based upon results during the 2021-22 school year.

The Community Foundation is now accepting nominations for the 2022-23 R.E.B. Awards for Distinguished Educational Leadership, which will result in a $30,000 grant for a Hanover County Public Schools principal.

Working in Support of Education (W!se), a nonprofit organization based in New York City, announced recently that Atlee High School (AHS) and Patrick Henry High School (PHHS) have earned the distinction of being named a Blue Star School for their students’ outstanding performance on the 2020-2021 W!se Financial Literacy Certification Test.
