Megan Rihn-Smith

Mrs. Rihn-Smith is entering her ninth year in education, and second year as an assistant principal in Hanover County. This is her first year as a member of the Patrick Henry High School PHamily, previously serving as the assistant principal at the Hanover County Online School.

Beginning her career at Varina High School, Mrs. Rihn-Smith was a science teacher primarily teaching biology and AP environmental science and working with students in grades 9–12. Following her time in the classroom, she served as an administrative intern with Henrico before transitioning to Hanover County Public Schools. She has served as class sponsors for grades 9–12, varsity cheerleading head coach, and participated in various school based action teams and committees that support the success of the diverse cultural, behavioral, and academic needs of students.

Mrs. Rihn-Smith is a proud graduate of Virginia Tech, holding a bachelor of science degree in biology and minor in chemistry. Additionally, she earned her master of science in education from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and endorsement in administration and supervision from Longwood University.

Mrs. Rihn-Smith and her husband, Garrett, are originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They currently reside in Henrico County with their daughter, Elloise.
