Attention, parents, guardians, and senior students! Our upcoming senior awards night is on Thursday, May 23. Senior awards night is a special event to recognize our graduating seniors receiving honors, awards, and scholarships from Patrick Henry High School, alumni and families, universities, and state and national organizations. We will recognize seniors for their many special gifts and talents, from academic distinction to athletics excellence, for personal character, dedication to service, and more. We look forward to having our students and families join us for this wonderful event!

We will honor Hanover scholars and senior award recipients for their accomplishments starting at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium (students line up in the new gym at 5:10 p.m.). Seniors were notified in the fall if they were a Hanover scholar and can contact Mrs. Patterson via email with any questions. Hanover scholar students must complete the Hanover scholar information Google form online by Wednesday, May 15.

A reception sponsored by the Hanover Education Foundation will begin in the commons immediately following senior awards night.

We will mail parents a letter in early May if we choose their child as a scholarship recipient for acknowledgement at senior awards night.

Outside scholarships: If a senior has received a scholarship award and/or grant from the college they will attend or from an outside organization not related to Patrick Henry High School (e.g. military, businesses, etc.), they must bring a copy of the official award letter to the School Counseling office confirming the scholarship no later than Friday, May 3 if they want acknowledgement for it at senior awards night. We will ask all seniors that report scholarship award and/or grant information to stand as a group for recognition. We will also promote this information via other communication methods.

Additionally, we also want to recognize seniors that have received their Eagle Scout rank by the Boy Scouts or the Gold Award by the Girl Scouts (we will ask these students to stand as a group for recognition at senior awards night). In order to do so, they must give school counseling official documentation of their achievement by Friday, May 3.

We will not include any outside scholarship and/or award information that we receive after Friday, May 3 in senior awards night or in other forms of communication. Please contact Mrs. Edwards, career counselor, via email with any questions.

Students receiving recognition should be present at senior awards night and need to wear their caps and gowns. Students should email Mrs. Edwards immediately if they are unable to attend.

We invite and encourage parents and proud family members to attend!
